Fulfills UMM General Education Requirement: category CW (College Writing)

Welcome to English 1011: College Writing, a web-based composition course designed to help you improve your writing skills for success in college and beyond. The course is based on two premises: first, that the best way to learn to write is to practice writing; and second, that reading superbly crafted, challenging works can both model and provide the subject for good writing. English 1011 students will write and revise assigned essays, will contribute regularly to a class discussion board, and will work collaboratively in writing workshops to help revise their work.
